Collector tells govt officials to step up tourism development works
Vikarabad: District Collector Sayyad Omar Jaleel on Thursday asked tourism development officials to step up tourism development works in Kotpalli, Sarpanpalli and Yebbanur forest areas and take steps to complete eco-tourism development works by June 2.
The Collector asked forest department officials to identify suitable places for tourism development. As the State government has decided to promote tourism in the district as a pilot project, he said the police, forest and irrigation departments to pool efforts to promote tourism. He wanted cycle tracks, water sports, bird watching and canteen should be developed besides undertaking roads, proving street lights, parking facilities, toilets, sheds and cottages for tourists.
Collector Sayyad suggested establishing a separate police station for the benefit of tourists. He asked them to submit proposals for forwarding to the State government. Forest officials’ Sri Lakshmi, Irrigation Executive Engineer Chandrasekhar, additional SP Narsimulu, DSP Sireesha and others took part in the meeting.
