Qutbullapur: Legislator A Vivekananda on Wednesday came to the State Legislative Assembly in an RTC bus for the third consecutive day. He travelled in an ordinary bus from the Suchitra Junction on the Medchal-Mehdipatnam route at about 8.30 am after taking a ticket. The MLA interacted with the travelling public to know their problems.

A woman lecturer of a private college complained that there are buses on the Medchal-Medhipatnam route only in the morning and that the people have been facing problems in the absence of the direct route bus services in the evening hours. She said employees and students were feeling the pinch in the absence of evening buses. She pleaded for running of the evening services. A woman conductor informed the legislators that women conductors aged above 50 years should be accommodated in either Metro or  Express buses as they were facing problems in crowded buses.

Vivekananda told The Hans India that he had been able to know the problems of the travelling public, besides those of the Traffic and Transport departments after moving in RTC buses from different spots. He expressed happiness over fellow MLAs Gandhi and Krishna Rao travelling in RTC buses on Tuesday to go to the Assembly. This, he said, had enabled them to become aware of the hardships facing the people using public transport. Vivekananda said they would take these problems to the notice of the government.
