87th anniversary of patriots observed
Peddambarpet: The 87th anniversary of patriots’ Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev was observed at the Zilla Parishad high school here under the auspices of the local Students’ Federation of India (SFI) nagarpanchayat committee on Friday.
Addressing the event, SFI secretary Nagendralu observed that the role and sacrifice of the trio was unforgettable. He said that although the three were aware that they were going to die they staked their lives with the slogan ‘inquilab zindabad’. The SFI leader described the patriots as those who drove the youth to achieve the country’s freedom.
He expressed displeasure that the current-day rulers were seeking to utilise the sacrifices of the trio for their selfish needs by creating caste, communal and regional discords seeking to divide the people. The SFI, he pointed out, was striving to move ahead inspired by the sacrifices of patriots like Bhagat Singh. Among those present were SFI leaders B Sainath, P Siva, G Nagaraju, G Siva, the school teachers and students.
