Music Club at EFLU inaugurated
Osmania University: Prof. E. Suresh Kumar, Vice Chancellor, The English and Foreign Languages University, Hyderabad, opened the University Music Club in the presence of R P Patnaik, an internationally acclaimed music director.
The Music Club has been established with the aim of encouraging students to pursue and widen their hobbies, without being confined to apart from their academics, and thus develop holistically. Speaking on the occasion, the Vice Chancellor urged the students to channelize their potential in socially productive activities with music as one of the channels.
Addressing the gathering the Chief Guest R P Patnaik stressed on the need to be connected with music because it is a source of harmony and is guaranteed to win hearts. He joined students in performing on his select musical scores. This was followed by performances by noted artists like Vinod Babu, Siva Shanker accompanied by students and the EFLU music teachers on instruments.
The University Music Club will offer courses in playing any of the fourteen musical instruments to students, teaching-and non-teaching staff of the University without a charge. Two music instructors have been appointed for this purpose. The EFL fraternity has widely appreciated this novel initiative by the Vice Chancellor.
