Awareness programme held
Hyderabad: Star Hospitals took the initiative to collaborate with HvPI, National Institute of Biologicals, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India to conduct the CME on "Haemovigilance Programme of India".
The programme was to sensitise the attendees about the Haemovigi lance, which is a step towards increasing the blood safety. It was conducted in the State for the first time after the formation of Telangana. Dr Reba Chabbra, Grade I scientist, i/c Deputy Director QC & Head of HvPI N1 B, Noida addressed the audience.
Haemovigi lance is the set of surveillance procedures covering the entire blood transfusion chain, from the donation and processing of blood and its components, through to their provision and transfusion to patients, and including their follow-up. The occasion was graced by the presence of Annam Visala, Deputy Drugs Controller (India) Hyderabad zone.
