Civic officials work hard to improve tourist inflow
Charminar: After successfully starting the works at Charminar Pedestrian Project (CPP), civic authorities are now making efforts to transform the surroundings of the iconic structure in order to attract more tourists and have a unique look of the market near Charminar.
A buffer zone is almost created around Charminar besides removing the street vendors, hawkers and fruit vendors from Charminar. State government has been aiming to develop the Charminar area on the lines of Istanbul and on the global standards.
As part of its mission, civic authorities on Sunday removed most of the sign boards near Charminar in order to implement the uniform sign boards rule near this tourist area. It was part of a plan 'Iconic City' which was proposed recently and a team of municipal officials along with city Mayor Bonthu Rammohan visited Amritsar to study and assess the similar strategy there.
There will be similar kind of sign boards on all the shops, business installments, near Charminar and at the places where tourists frequently visit. It would be across Laad Bazar, Pather Gatti, Char Kaman and other adjacent areas until Madina junction.
Civic authorities have demolished and removed the sign boards near Pather Gatti. Soon there will be uniform sign boards in the area. These activities are carried out in orde to implement the Charminar Area Development plan which is actually the extension of the pedestrianisation project.
State government has many innovative plans for the Charminar area in order to develop it on global scales and make it convenient for the tourists. It is to be noted that Charminar has been ranked as one of the iconic structures and Hyderabad as the most favorable city to visit. The removal of sign boards was carried out in presence of south zone zonal commissioner and other officials.
