Kodandaram backs demand for scrapping GOs 21 & 22

Hyderabad: Telangana JAC Chairman Prof M Kodandaram on Sunday demanded immediate withdrawal of GOs 21 and 22, intended to scrap the in-service quota of government doctors, describing them as ‘illegal’.

Addressing a round-table conference convened  by the Telangana Medical JAC at Press Club,  along with Congress MLA Revanth Reddy, Kodandaram said it was improper for the government to bring in the GOs, as they would cause severe harm to the interest of government doctors. He advised the government to desist from taking hasty decisions. The JAC leader pledged support to the government doctors in their struggle.

Revanth Reddy termed the GOs as against the natural and legal principles. He maintained that the GOs would severely harm not only the government doctors but also the future generation of people of Telangana. The Congress leader wanted the Health Minister to immediately respond and take a decision on GOs after holding discussions with the government doctors. Among the Government Doctors’ Association leaders present were Praveen, Bongu Ramesh, Laluprasad.
