Pesticide company owner physically abuses GHMC tax officials

Jeedimetla: Tax collection officers of the GHMC were in for a rude shock when Ammi Raju, owner of an unbranded pesticide company in Jeedimetla refused to pay his debts of Rs 6 lakh to the State government recently. 

Although the firm was being billed under the name of Rathna Extrusions, there were no signages of the same in the company premises and when the authorities questioned him, Ammi Raju physically abused them following which he ordered the security to lock the officers inside the firm and fled from the scene.

The panicked GHMC employees informed the situation to GHMC Deputy Commissioner Sudhamsh who arrived at the scene with Jeedimetla police personnel, got the officers released and later went on to seize the company. SI Veera Babu said that the police have charged a case against the owners and their accomplices adding that the culprits will soon be taken on remand.
