It will strive daily for the uplift of BCs, he stated while addressing a function in Birla Science auditorium to felicitate recently elected BC leaders to the Rajya Sabha Banda Prakash and Badugu Lingaiah Yadav, organised by BC Welfare Association president Jujula Srinivas Goud.

Etala pointed out that some persons had ridiculed the government after buffalos and fish were distributed to those who believed in their caste avocations. But the government also provided two RS seats to BCs. He assured the gathering that it would go to the rescue of BCs and all other castes both financially and politically.

Addressing the gathering, Forest Minister Jogu Ramanna criticised other parties for merely using BCs to carry flags, whereas the TRS had sent them to the house of elders. He said Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao would stage a dharna in New  Delhi to press for political reservations for BCs.

Replying to the felicitation, Lingaiah Yadav and Banda Prakash pledged to take up the cause of the rights of BCs in Parliament. Srinivas Goud stated that the organisation would stand by those who work for the welfare of BCs, but revolt against those who do injustice to them. Among those present at the function were MBC Corporation Chairman Taduri Srinivas, MLA Putta Madhu, BC Students’ Association leaders Srinivas, Prakash Goud.
