SCCS to strive for women’s empowerment
Khairatabad: The Srinidhi Credit Cooperative Samakya (SCCS) will strive for women’s empowerment and development across the State, said its director Vidyasagar Reddy here on Thursday.
Addressing the fifth broad-based meeting of the Samakya at Visvesvaraya Bhavan, he said it would utilise tablets to provide loans to women in this financial year, thus utilising the latest technology. Reddy asserted that the organisation was working for the betterment mainly of rural women.
He revealed that during 2017-18, the samakya had provided loans totaling Rs1,810 crore. This year, the figure is targeted at Rs 2,300 crore. It would aim to reach over 18 lakh customers. The organisation was devoting special attention to giving loans to women who depend on traditional practices.
It was also financing women for developing them into entrepreneurs with schemes like Suvidha, Pragati, Akshaya loans. All directors and mandal-level representatives from all districts attended the meeting.
