City temples decked up for Hanuman Jayanti
Kondapur: The fervour of Hanuman Jayanti reached the peak in the city. All famous Hanuman temples have been decked up for celebrating the lord’s birthday which falls on Saturday. The temples were decorated with different types of flowers, flags and colourful lights.
The authorities of various temples have made elaborate arrangements to receive devotees. As Ramu Rao, a priest said: “ The idols will be bathed , decorated and dressed with new clothes and ornaments. Hanuman Jayanti is celebrated on full moon day during Chaitra month to commemorate the birth of hanuman, which is known as vanara god. In Andhra Pradesh and Telangana hanuman jayanti is celebrated for 41 days, which starts on chaitra purnima and ends on the tenth day during Krishna paksha in vaishakha month.
“Rama temple which is run by Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam is based on the Bhadrachala Rama temple. Lord Rama here also is chaturbhuja Rama (four hands) like Bhadrachalam and has bow and arrow and is flanked by sita devi on his lap and Lakshmana. The specialty of the temple is lord hanuman (Anjaneya) is located facing Lord Rama. The temple offers free Rama Koti books and collects them back” he added.
“Overall 26,000 devotees from the city and neighbouring districts are excepted to attend the darshan . To ensure hassle free celebrations, the temple committee members have made elaborate arrangements and will provide free prasadam and other basic amenities at temple. Butter milk and water will be distributed to the devotees,” said B Veeresham , founder and chairman of the Sree Veeranjaneya temple, Tadbund committee.
“The temple opens at 2 am for performing Visesha Abhishekam, Sindhoora Alankaram and Viswa Roopa Alankaram to the deity. Darshan for devotees commences at 5 am and will continue till midnight with hanuman Chalisa Parayanam throughout in a spiritual environment. More than 200 volunteers will work and help the devotees to ensure peaceful darshan. We are deploying more than 5000 police personnel and other Para military forces to avoid unwanted incidents . CCTV cameras are installed at all the focal points to have a clear view and footage to keep a track on live demonstration of celebration” he said.
