International meet at EFLU
Osmania University: The English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU), Hyderabad organised the third international conference on Emerging Trends in Korean Studies in India: An Interdisciplinary Perspective being held on the campus.
Organized jointly by the Department of Asian Studies, EFLU, and the Academy of Korean Studies, the conference aims at promoting academic cooperation among the young scholars engaged in Korean Studies and providing a platform to share their research findings, expertise, and understanding of Korean language and literature.
In his inaugural address, the Chief Guest, Suresh Chukkapalli, Honorary Consul-General, Consulate of Korea, Hyderabad, appreciated the efforts of Prof. Suresh Kumar, Vice Chancellor, EFLU, in partnering with the Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, Korea, to promote research and to propose student-exchange programmes.
Adding his voice and authority to this idea, Prof. Kim Do-Young, Director, Korean Studies, Jamia Islamia University, Delhi, stressed on the need to offer courses to promote research in Korean language and literature in Indian universities for better employability, and global networking among the scholars of Korean Studies. The two-day conference, which began on Monday, is being attended by students, scholars, and teachers from India, China, Bangladesh, and Korea.
