Congress-TDP JAC, locals observe bandh

Ramayampet:  A bandh was called by the Telugu Desam and BJP Joint Action Committee (JAC) on Wednesday here to highlight the demand of revenue division of Ramayampet in Medak district. 

The local educational, commerce and business establishments also voluntarily closed their shops as the BJP-TDP leaders called for bandh by distributing rose flowers to the locals in town. The all party members demanded that the Ramayampet mandal, which was represented by former Chief Minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh T Anjaiah, is growing business hub in the surrounding area and it has all the eligibilities to be made revenue division.

In the past, Minister Harish Rao and Deputy Minister Padma Devendar Reddy had promised to make Ramayampet a revenue division but Parakala was made a division though we strongly fought by staging protest on the National Highway 44. Now, the government should keep its promise by fulfilling our demand, said Congress leader Hayamad. Deputy Speaker Padma Devendar Reddy is obstructing for our demand by misleading the government on the matter. We will intensify our fight to achieve our demand, said the Congress leader. Congress and BJP leaders participated in the bandh.
