TRS government’s welfare measures for Dalits listed out

Siddipet:  Member of the State Legislative Council Paturi Sudhakar on Thursday recalled various programmes taken up by the State Government for the benefit of dalits. 

Participating as chief guest in the 111st birth anniversary of former Deputy Prime Minister Babu Jagjivan Ram at the PJR junction, the MLA said that the state government started over 300 residential schools for dalits, a degree college for women has been set up in district head quarters and mess allowances have been hiked to benefit dalits.

Moreover, funds meant for dalits are being spent in the respective district. Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has dashed a letter to PM Narendra Modi asking him to speak to Supreme Court judge against watering down the SC and ST Atrocities (prevention) Act. District Collector Venkatram Reddy said that orders have been issued to distribute at least 1000 acres among the landless poor during the next six months. 

Commissioner of Police Joel Davis said that free coaching programme as per direction of Major Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao will be conducted for police recruitment test by the police department here. It may be recalled at a notification has been issued to fill over 20,000 police constable posts in the state. He asked the job aspirants to register their names with the respective police stations between April 11 and 15. Siddeniki Yadagiri, who recently completed Ph D, was felicitated on the occasion. 

Siddipet municipal chairman Kadavergu Rajanars presided over the programme. Joint Collector Padmakar Saraiah, municipal commissioner Srinivasa Reddy, district SC welfare officer Charan Das, BC welfare officer Ram Reddy and others took part in the celebrations.
