Jayanti of VII Nizam celebrated at Arts College

Osmania University: The jayanti of VII Nizam Meer Osman Ali Khan was celebrated at the Arts College on Friday under the stewardship of South India JAC chairman Prof Gali Vinod Kumar. Leaders of various JACs and students garlanded Khan’s portrait and paid tribute to him.

Addressing the gathering, Vinod Kumar sated that setting up of OU had benefited lakhs of youth belonging to the weaker sections, enabling them to pursue education. He pointed out that Khan had striven to secure a doctorate for Dr B R Ambedkar from OU and that the hospitals and educational institutions set up by the late Nizam VII were stilI benefitting  the people. 

He called for installation of Khan’s statue on the OU campus and a setting up of a research centre in his name. Christian JAC leader R J S Thomas, Sheeba, Habi b Usman Khan, South India Students’ JAC president Gaddam Ashok, DBCA leader Naliganti Sharath, OU student leader Sunil Shetty.
