CC cameras in municipal office dysfunctional

##BIG-IMAGEMalkajgiri: While on one hand, the Telangana government is intensifying its awareness drive on the importance of CC Cameras across the state through its police personnel and several non-governmental organisations, on the other hand, it's an irony that the cameras set up in a government office have been left in a hampered state for several days deceiving visitors that they are under surveillance.

In a rather shocking incident, it has been found that CC cameras placed in the circle 17 municipal office of Malkajgiri constituency have been found to be in a dysfunctional state for several days and no action has been taken by the authorities to restore. In fact, visitors to the GHMC circle office allege that the officials have been taking undue advantage of the non-working cameras for spending time in leisure.

They add that misusing the absence of surveillance in the office, the authorities come late and speak rashly to the public who come with their queries. The cameras which act as crusaders against corruption in government offices are not functional in this office and when The Hans India correspondent went on to question the authorities, the GHMC officials retorted saying that it was their internal matter.

They also added that the CC cameras were fully functional earlier but went blank a little while ago.  Fed up with the casual attitude of the GHMC officials, commoners are forced to wait for hours in long queues to get their work done.
