Begum Bazar: Most of the areas in Goshamahal constituency lack community dustbins, forcing residents in the area to throw garbage openly in public which is resulting in spread of garbage and domestic waste on the streets here.

So much has been done in achieving the cleanliness across the streets under GHMC’s prestigious Swachh Hyderabad mission, but municipal authorities are failing to look after the logistic requirements for the same. Lack of dust bins is mainly resulting in spread of domestic waste on the roads and streets in localities under Goshamahal constitutency.

Though there are dustbins at some points in the constituency, they are in a very bad condition which need immediate replacement. On the other hand, some spots do not have even dustbins for a long time even after four years of launching of Swachh Bharat mission. This situation is being prevailed for several months now in the area. Municipal officials are making all their efforts to advertise about the Swachh Bharat and Swachh Hyderabad, but this scheme could not be grounded in these localities.

Local people say they have requested the authorities concerned to look into the matter and focus on clearing the garbage problem in the area and arrange community dustbins. It was also complained that the garbage is not removing from the place on a regular basis. It was also alleged that the municipal staff had been burning the garbage after collecting it from households in front of Shanti fireworks in the locality.
