OU can sustain only on quality standards: VC

Osmania University: Moving forward with quality standards while facing world-wide competition alone would ensure sustenance of Osmania University, observed V-C Prof S Ramachandram here on Monday.

Inaugurates a ‘centenary hall’ in Prof G Ramreddy Centre for Distance Education

Addressing a meeting in Prof G Ramreddy Centre for Distance Education after inaugurating a ‘centenary hall’ there, he pointed out that the State-owned universities were at a crucial juncture in the context of private varsities making their presence felt. He wanted the OU faculty, staff and students to realise that funds would be sanctioned only on the basis of performance.

The V-C called for steps by every department and various centres to strengthen the OU set-up by working with a clear vision on study and research. Registrar Prof.Ch Gopal Reddy expressed happiness over the creation of latest facilities in the conference hall, while OSD Prof T Krishna Rao stated that it would be useful for conducting symposia and meetings.

Director of the centre Prof. Chinta Ganesh announced that soon OU would introduce more new courses. Among those present were OU Centenary Special Law Officer Prof Ch Venkateshwarlu, Academic Audit Director Prof Venugopal Rao, RCUIN Director Prof Y Parthasaradhi, Controller of Examinations Prof M Kumar, Arts College Principal Prof D Ravinder.
