`11.4 lakh collected from segregation of garbage

Hyderabad:  The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation’s (GHMC) Dry Resource Collection Centre near Sanjeevaiah Park where wet garbage has been segregated and collected a revenue of Rs 11.40 lakh only in the month of March 

This has been achieved with the help of 123 Swachh auto drivers, 85 rag pickers and got their hard-earned money of Rs 11.40 lakhs through wet garbage segregation. As part of segregation, GHMC has distributed Rs 40 lakhs dust bins to the households in GHMC limits.

The Swachh auto drivers and rag pickers collect the garbage waste from the households and transport to Transfer stations and the wet garbage waste will be dumped at DRCC centre at Sanjeevaiah park where the various different agencies will sort out the wet waste.

 In the month of March, 181 metric tonnes of wet garbage has been segregated where 15 different types of wet garbage like black plastic, water bottles, plastic waste, broken glass pieces, beer bottles and others will be segregated item wise by the agencies and will sell to the concerned agency at the DRCC.
The DRCC centres are also working in Rajendra Nagar, Uppal, LB Nagar, West and Central Zone and fetching up lakhs of rupees from the wet garbage waste.
