Good response to GHMC ‘Plagging’ programme

Hyderabad: The GHMC unique ‘Plagging’ programme by walkers introduced recently is going on at a brisk pace. Walkers while busy with their physical activity are removing empty water and cool drink bottles and papers from playgrounds and pathways.
 
The programme is being taken up daily in at least 50 parks by GHMC additional/zonal/deputy commissioners and medical officers in coordination with local colony residents’ welfare associations, morning walkers and members of the parks organising committees. On Wednesday GHMC IT Wing Additional Commissioner Musharaf Ali participated in the programme in Jalagam Vengal Rao Park. He removed waste material along with the morning walkers.

The GHMC has taken up the Plagging programmme of lifting waste materials and depositing it in the designated places as practised in several cities across the world. Commissioner Dr Janardhan Reddy says the programme is being implemented as part of responsibility of individuals to keep their surroundings clean.
