Imlibun: It is alleged that the bus drivers of Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) are loading cartons of transporters in buses bound to other cities and towns just outside the Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station (MGBS). Raghav, a regular traveller to Belguam said that the bus stopped just outside the MGBS and loading was being undertaken.

Ramesh Malani, a businessman who travels twice a month to towns in Karnataka said, “At times the bus is full and loading cartons from other transporters could not only increase the weight but also cause inconvenience to passengers who need to load the luggage.”

It may be noted that TSRTC has tied up with ANL Parcel service  for transportation of cargo. A senior official said that their term is about to be over and nine players have evinced interest. Private transporters of cargo pay little and save a lot of money. Madukar, an agent on condition of anonymity said, “The consumer, in this case the person who wants to send cargo is getting the job done by paying half the money and the drivers make easy money.”

MGBS mainly serves the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh It also serves other neighbouring states like Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu.MGBS covers an area 20 acres and built complex. There are many bus stations owned by TSRTC in Hyderabad and come under Hyderabad Depot-1. This is one of the two terminal points in Hyderabad for long distance. Express, Deluxe, Super Luxury, Indra A/C, Garuda, Garuda Plus and Vennela A/C sleeper are some of buses which are operated by TSRTC from MGBS.
