Bhoomi Foundation celebrates first anniv

Hitec City: The Bhoomi Foundation on Sunday celebrated its first anniversary at Phoenix Arena of TSIIC Park in Hitec City. Serilingampally MLA Arekapudi Gandhi attended the programme as a chief guest. 

Speaking on the occasion, he said that the Bhoomi Foundation’s members who were volunteering for Swachh Hyderabad were successfully transforming untidy localities into beautiful places by keeping their focus on roads and public places. He said that these volunteers were role models for others, as they were serving and encouraging others to take up this task. He lauded the efforts of 250 volunteers working tirelessly for the cause. He pointed out that while maintaining cleanliness of our surroundings one should also focus on filling up potholes on the road, plant saplings and encourage others to take part in this noble activity. 

He noted that the volunteers who were showing keen interest to maintain hygiene in the public places were balancing their job with the voluntary work. He said that in spite of being software employees, it was commendable that they were thinking about the general public by focusing on maintaining sanitary in public places. 

Emphasising on cleanliness and importance, the MLA praised Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for hiking the salary of Municipal workers from Rs 4,000 to Rs 12,500. He said that it was high time that each citizen takes part in Swachh Bharat campaign to ensure that Hyderabad tops all other cities across the country in maintaining cleanliness. 

Gandhi later handed over certificate of appreciation to the volunteers whose active participation helped Bhoomi to successfully complete their campaign. The programme was attended by Bhoomi Foundation founder, Tejaswi Podapati and her associates, Library Director Ganesh Mudhiraj, former corporator, Ravinder Mudiraj, TRS leaders, U Srikanth, Raju Yadav, E Srinivas, Kashinath Yadav, Jagadish, Pawan and others.
