GHMC bags HUDCO 2017-18 Award
Hyderabad: Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has been awarded HUDCO 2017-18 award on Wednesday. The award was received by the in-charge commissioner GHMC Bharati Holikary from the hands of Minister of Urban Development and Housing Harideep S Puri in New Delhi.
The award is in recognition of the GHMC efforts in making city best place to live, improving living standards, basic facilities, living standards and other urban aspects. The award was given on the occasion of 48th formation day of Housing and Urban Development Corporation (HUDCO). Housing Special Chief Secretary Chitra Ramchandran was also accompanied during the award ceremony.
HUDCO has recognised about eight best practices of the GHMC in city for giving award. HUDCO Managing Director M Ravikanth and Union Minister Harideep Puri appreciated the efforts of GHMC for improving the living standards in city. Prominently, construction of double bedroom houses in 109 places, identifying 41 slum areas for 2BHK houses, DPMS implementation for construction permissions, usage of ‘MY GHMC’ App for public complaints, LED lighting on the streets, launching of 2,200 Swachh autos, removal of 1,116 open garbage points and others were being identified by the HUDCO to award GHMC.
