Issue of RBP passbooks from May 10 to 18
Vikarabad: All steps are being taken to distribute Rythu Bandhu Pathakam cheques along with pattadar passbooks from May 10 to 18, said district Collector Syed Omar Jaleel here on Friday.
Speaking after reviewing with the Police and Revenue officials the distribution of the Rythu Bandhu cheques (for Rs 4,000 for each acre for the Kharif) and passbooks, he stated that they would be distributed in coordination with members of the Rythu Samanvaya Samiti. For this purpose 99 teams have been constituted across the district. Each team of 300 would be split into three for covering each village.
The Collector stated that of the 2.65 lakh accounts, 2.24 lakh account-holders would receive the cheques/passbooks in the first phase in schools/gram panchayats. Steps would be taken to distribute them to the stalled 41,000 accounts, after examining them. He asked officials to compulsorily conduct the Rythu Bandhu scheme programmes in every mandal and wanted them to ensure the presence of the Rythu Samanvaya Samiti members along with people’s representatives, besides those holding Cabinet posts.
He suggested that officials take up a campaign on the schedule of cheque/passbook distribution so as to ensure that information reaches farmers. He advised the police to take precautions to prevent crowding at the distribution centres. Only those whose names are included the list should be allowed. Security should also be arranged at banks. District SP Annapurna wanted the department to prepare advance plans on deployment of security at the distribution centres. Tighter security would be arranged at problem areas, besides banks, she said.
