Re-investigation of Mecca Masjid blast case sought

It is to be noted that few social leaders from city and across the country wrote a letter to Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and National Investigation Agency (NIA) recently demanding re-investigation of the Mecca Masjid blast case. They expressed their concern over the deliberate attempts to make the case weak and get the accused acquitted. 

Speakers at the public meeting held at Yakutpura questioned the State government’s stance over the follow up of Mecca Masjid blast case and demanded justice for the victims. Criticising the way of dealing the case by public prosecutor, they alleged that investigation was willfully diluted and that led to acquittal of all the accused basing ironically on lack of evidences.

President Muslim Shabban Mushtaq Malik said that a dozen people were killed in the blast and firing aftermath but the accused were released. He said that several innocent youth from old city were arrested and tortured during the investigation and they were released by the High Court in the past.

Now, the other accused were also released, so who was behind the blast, he questioned. Who planted the bomb and who hatched the entire plan to execute this, he asked.
He also demanded justice for Vatoli victims wherein five members of a family were brutally murdered and their bodies were set on fire by the unidentified goons. He said that locals knew the actual culprits and some people gave their testimonials in the case but the accused were still released.

Wahdat e Islami president Maulana Naseeruddin on this occasion said that why Telangana government was so weak in giving justice to the Muslims in the state. He said that Alair encounter report was not tabled in the Assembly so far. He said that there were so many apprehensions in the minds of people of Telangana as to why government was failing to give justice to the victims of extremism and brutality.
