Vidyut contract staff threaten to go on indefinite strike

Basheerbagh: Under the banner of Telangana Vidyut Contract Employees Union, the employees staged dharna in front of TSSPDCL corporate office at Mint compound premises on Monday. Civil liberties leader Prof. Haragopal  and his wife Vanamala took park in the dharna.

The Civil liberties leader along with union leaders submitted a memorandum to TSSPDCL chairman Raghuma Reddy. Prof. Haragopal demanded solving the problems faced by the contract employees. He also demanded their regularisation. Contract employees said that Chief Minister K Chandra Shekar Rao gave assurance in the State Assembly on merger of 23,000 contract employees in to power utilities. They warned to go on indefinite strike if their demands are not fulfilled.
