In a first, ‘Teachers Training Centre at Siddipet to be inaugurated tomorrow

Siddipet: In a first in the state, Teachers’ Training Centre (TTC) will be inaugurated May 4 at Siddipet, said MLC P Sudhakar Reddy on Wednesday. Speaking at the press meet, the Teacher Bhavan, which was constructed at a cost of Rs. 2.5 crore out of his MLA Constituency Development Scheme Funds, the MLC of  teachers’ constituency Sudhakar Reddy said the TTC was the first Teachers’ Bhavan with modern facilities that  to be inaugurated by Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao on May 4. The principal aim of the building is for the training for teachers at government high schools to hone up their skills in modern teaching methods by the expert trainers according to reach the global education policies, said the MLC.

The Teachers Training Centre will be run by the government only under District Education Officer without involving any teachers’ associations, mentioned the Member of Legislative Council who called for the participation of teachers in the district and the state wide teachers’ associations in the training.

The MLC, who has the teaching background, directed the government to utilise the services of retired head masters and teachers as trainers for the betterment of the teaching faculty in the schools according to the changing modern methods to yield the best results in school education in the district. Special funds for the TTC to train the teachers on a regular basis will be earmarked from the centre, hoped the retired head master who said that the 2 more TTCs were under construction at Jagityala and Adilabad district with his MLACDS funds. 

To make the rural students compete with the urban students, the teachers should be trained at TTC year long accordingly to deliver the best teaching in English and Telugu media, he opined. It would be better if the Members of Parliament also come forward for the establishment of TTCs like at Siddipet in their respected districts with their MPLADS, Sudhakar Reddy said. MLC Farukh Hussain, Siddipet Municipal chairman K Rajanarsu  DEO and members of various teachers’ associations in the district participated in the meeting.
