Pits, potholes make travel to Nagasamundar bumpy & risky
Tandur: The road leading to Nagasamundar is in horrible condition posing threat to commuters. This is not far from main centres but very much in the assembly constituency which is represented by Transport Minister Mahender Reddy and also by Zilla Parishad Chairperson Sunitha.
Replete with pits and pot holes, the connecting roads to the interior villages becoming accident prone zones. Strewn with ditches, the bad condition of the roads is causing spinal disorders to the two-wheeler drivers.
The bumpy, pothole-pitted roads show the infrastructure is in disrepair in the state of Telangana. These damaged roads have come cost to the locals in terms of money, and even their lives.
In case of emergencies, private ambulances, 108 vehicles are not in a position to reach the villages due to bad condition of the road. Even people cannot ferry the needy for medical urgencies. The transport is very dangerous during night time. The gravel strewn over the road making slippery for the movement of vehicles.
D Venkatesh, a youth from Nagasamundar village said in despair that the roads turned dangerous from one year. “We requested every official and people’s representative who visited our village for repairing the roads. But no one bothered. The 108 vehicles are also not coming to our village due to bad roads even during delivery time of our women,” he said.
Saptagiri another youth of the village said, “This is really hell like situation. Two-wheelers, auto-rickshaws, bullock carts stopped moving on these roads. Rulers claim that there are developing the state. Is this called development?” he questioned.
The deep pits and potholes on the road became dangerous for vehicle driving. A large number of accidents are taking place due to bad condition of the roads, leading to disc displacement, spinal injuries and bones dislocation and injuries, the villagers said. They appealed the authorities to take immediate action and repair the roads.
