BJP demands `2k cr for fee reimbursement

Hyderabad: BJP OBC Morcha state president Katam Narasimha Yadav demanded the Telangana state government to immediately release fee reimbursement dues to BC students on Friday.

The OBC Morcha leader explained that there are about seven lakh bc students in 675 engineering colleges in 31 districts of Telangana. As the government is not willing to pay the fee reimbursement, the student will miss an opportunity to pursue higher education, he lamented.

Katam Narasimha Yadav alleged that government for 2017-18 released Rs 450 crore for the purpose. He demanded Rs 2000 crore for 2016-17 and 2017-18 immediately. The OBC leader alleged that college managements are not allowing students to study on the pretext of fee reimbursement dues.

He warned that if the government not releases the dues they will take up mass agitations in a big way. BJP OBC Morcha General Secretary Anjaneyulu and Secretary Kesaboyina Sridhar were present.
