Garbage collection point to turn playground
KPHB colony: The ground at KPHB colony Phase-IV has been empty for long time after which the GHMC workers used the ground as garbage collection point. The garbage collected from the colony was all thrown at that particular ground. With the place becoming unhygienic and foul smell emanating the colony residents started complaining to GHMC officials. Following which the GHMC swung into action and decided to convert the place into children play ground.
The games provided will be Cricket, basketball, volleyball, badminton etc. All the people in colony are elated for the upcoming ground at colony. Especially, kids would be most happy as they lack play grounds in the area. The functions and programmes would be held by GHMC or the schools. Rest of the time the ground would be used for walks, yoga. Games, etc. it would be more of a work done in co-operation with the colony people and officials.
The colony people were observing the garbage being thrown every day, later together they went and approached GHMC officials to complain about it. Taking action on the complaints, the officials decided to construct a ground for cricket, volleyball, walks, jogs and more.
A GHMC worker at the ward office said, “GHMC has started its work, to construct the ground for the colony people. They have almost leveled up the bricks and the ground will be ready in a month or two. We heard the request and understood colonies situation because everyone was suffering from the foul smell and posed health risk for residents.
As it is a colony work the construction was immediately started only the pipelines are left and now it will be ready soon.” According to the colony members, “The garbage was thrown by the GHMC workers. Not a single person of colony has thrown the garbage, it was started by the GHMC workers but now it is removed and the ground has been improved.”
