Open nala poses danger
Pragathi Nagar: The open nala in Balaji Nagar division is narrow and inconspicuous but is posing a danger. In the last two weeks, an old man and a teenager fell into it during night time. Seven months ago, the boundary wall of this naala fell but the authorities have not taken action.
Residents say that the stench from the nala is something they have had to deal with but along with it the danger of falling into it has doubled the problem. Sunil Kumar a resident said , “Till now many children have fallen sick because of mosquito bites and there are no barricades around nala many children fell in naala while playing. Doctors say that the problem perists just due to unhygienic conditions.
This constituency is one of the fastest developing one, but there hardly any developmental works being taken up. The problems double when it rains and we shudder the thought of rainy season, which is not far away. Whenever we complain, the stock reply is that we have requested for funds but not yet sanctioned. When it rains there have been times when we did not come out of our beds, as naala water overflows and entered the houses”. Sunil added.
