Will CC roads go RUB way?

Update: 2018-05-17 04:36 IST

Malkajgiri: It is more than ten days now since the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) party leaders inaugurated the construction work of Anandbagh CC roads but there has been no significant development. The laying of CC roads seems to be delayed further.

The residents are on tenterhooks as the road under bridge works have been delayed and are apprehensive of the present works. Revathy Muthuswamy, a retired railway employee asks, “Why should the government have grandiose inaugurations when they are not sure when the works would commence?”

The apathetic attitude of the government officials of Malkajgiri has sent the residents into a dilemma on whether the works will commence or not after having witnessed their negligence and disinterest to complete the railway under bridge which has been languishing for years.

On daily basis, these roads are used as an alternative to reach Safilguda, AOC and Secunderabad, as the proposed construction of Anandbagh RUB has not been completed. “Recently, MP Malla Reddy, MLA Kanaka Reddy, MLC Myanampally Hanumanth Rao and corporator Jagadish Goud had given a green signal to begin the work. After the inaugural, we were hopeful that the work would begin but to no avail.

It seems to be that the officials follow the same formula of not attending the grievances of public as in the case of the RUB,” said Srinivas a resident. He further said that it is a back breaking journey for all the commuters on these uneven and dusty roads. When contacted, corporator of Anandbagh, Jagadish Goud said, “The work will begin soon and expect to be completed in 15 days.”

Meanwhile, the laying of CC roads at Madhura Nagar road number one and construction of underground drainage system in road number four has already started. “The work is in progress to the tune of Rs 21 lakh and hope it will be completed soon. The completion of work only depends on the punctuality of labour force attending the work. It is a routine case of they turn away from the spot for various reasons and thus the work goes in slow pace,” pointed Sridevi Hanumanth Rao, corporator.
