Vikarabad: The Kodangal police arrested the accused in the Narender Reddy’s murder case on Kodangal outskirts while searching vehicles on Thursday. Over sharing of family property, there was bad blood between the victim and his murderer Rajeshwar Reddy.

To wipe out evidence, the culprit along with accomplice Uppari Lakshman took the body to Gurmitkal of Karnataka and set it ablaze dousing it in diesel. Lakshman had surrendered to the police on May 13.  Briefing this to media, SP Annapurna said that the culprit was arrested near Kodangal and a revolver, cartridges, a car, two mobile phones were recovered from him.

Earlier, the police recovered burnt clothes of the victim. Narendra was angry at his brother disposed of cotton and red gram crops when he had gone to Bangalore along with wife Lakshmi. Upon return, he demanded his share in the money. A clash took place.

Later, he quarrelled with mother Padmamma forcing her to divide property and even beat her up.
Rajeshwar Reddy eyed his brother’s share since the latter had no children. He bore grudge against brother for beating their mother. Camping at Tandur, on May 8 he asked Lakshman to bring the victim to Tekulakod outskirts to iron out differences.

On May 9, led by Lakshman, the victim reached Annaram near Tekulakod. Rajeshwar Reddy arrived there in a car. While discussing property matters, they clashed leading to Narender Reddy falling down. Taking advantage, Rajeshwar Reddy stabbed him and so did was Lakshman. Rajeshwar Reddy fired four rounds putting the victim to death. Parigi DSP Srinivas lauded Kodangal CI and SI and others for cracking the case.
