Pavani felicitates sanitation workers

AS Rao Nagar: Local corporator Pavani Reddy felicitated sanitation workers after Hyderabad was selected as the best city in solid waste management category in Swachh Sarvekshan-2018 at ward office on Friday.

About 30 sanitation workers mostly women were felicitated with shawls. The local corporator said that it was the diligent work done by the sanitation workers that has helped Hyderabad bag the coveted award.

The role of the sanitation workers is huge as they work during all seasons and do not complain when natural calamities happen. For instance, after heavy rains on Thursday, the workers had to remove the debris and trees that fell on the roads. In many colonies, weekly markets are held where vegetable vendors litter the road and this debris is removed the following morning. 

The sanitation workers play an important role here said the corporator. GHMC doctor Maitri, sanitation supervisor Dhanagoud, DD of Horticulture, Yugender, inspector Aruna Jyothi, supervisor Sarvotham Reddy, Ward members Narimha Reddy, Shobha Rani, Ramtulasi, Raheem, TRS leaders Balraj, Manipal Reddy, Bhasha, Madhukar Reddy were present.
