Excellence awards to Civil Servants
Hyderabad: Government of Telangana presented Telangana Excellence Awards for 2017 & 2018 to 43 Civil Servants covering innovation, general, and flagship schemes under individual, group and organisation categories. The awards were presented in an impressive function held at Dr MCR HRD Institute of Telangana on Monday.
Kadiyam Srihari, Deputy Chief Minister, who was the chief guest on the occasion, said that Civil Servants would be doing full justice to their coveted positions only when they are proactive in understanding the problems of people and put their best foot forward in finding enduring solutions to them.
He paid rich tributes to their contributions towards outstanding success of such innovative interventions as reorganization of Telangana State into 31 districts, purification of land records,welfare of farmers, nutritious food for poor students,and development of all sections of society. He said that decision making, at a fast pace, is the need of the hour in order to measure up to the rising expectations of people.
K T Rama Rao, Minister, IT, MA & UD, who was the guest of honour, underlined the importance of 3-D Mantra to enrich the quality of governance, namely, decentralization of administration, extensive use of information & communication technology in service delivery (digitizing), and democratic style of functioning.
“TS-iPASS resulted in a number of beneficial outcomes, including issuing of about 66,000 permissions to industries in an expeditious fashion, an inflow of investment to a tune of over 20 billion US dollars, and creation of about 300,000 jobs”, he said and added that similar initiatives are in the pipeline for issuing time-bound permission for building plans.
He said that the pursuit of excellence by the Civil Servants should continue unabated and cautioned them that receiving the Telangana Excellence Awards should not lead to a sense of complacency among them.
