Pensioners warn govt of launching protests from June 11
Abids: Joint Action Committee (JAC) of Telangana government pensioners warned the State government to intensify their struggle from June 11 at a recently held meeting on future course of action.
JAC chairman Lakshmaiah alleged that the State government insulted the pensioners by not inviting them to the discussions with Government Employees Associations at Pragathi Bhavan on May 16.
The JAC chairman demanded 15 per cent additional pension to pensioners above 70 years, sanction of Telangana special incentive and allocation of 1,000 yard land to construct building for pensioners at Hyderabad.
He urged Chief Minisiter K Chandrashekar Rao to take a decision on the demands by June 10. Lakshmaiah warned the government that they would intensify their struggle from June 11, if the demands were not met. JAC secretary-general Sudhakar Rao, leaders Narasimha, Hanumantha Reddy, Narayana Rao, Satyanarayana were present.
