Uppal: There are close to half-a-dozen civic works that were taken up during the last one-and-half years but are not completed. In many areas, roads have been dug up by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply & Sewerage Board (HMWSS&B) and Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) but the debris on the roads remain and new roads are not laid.

In Bank Colony and Annapurna Colony, roads were dug up by both the HMWSSB and GHMC within a span of six months. Raghavaiah, a resident says, there is no coordination between the departments. If both had completed the works one after the other there would have been no problem. Whenever we ask officials they say that they need to dig up the roads once again.”

President of Congress party Chilakanagar division Chenreddy Raghupathi Reddy on Wednesday complained about long pending civic problems in the division. Along with Uppal circle deputy commissioner Yadagiri Rao, he toured the colonies.

The deputy commissioner assured the completion of works related to long pending problems before rainy season. AMOH Uma Gowri, assistant engineer Keerthi and sanitation staff and colony residents were present.
