Inordinate delay in issuance of certificates
Malkajgiri: People are experiencing inordinate delay in the issue of certificates by the Tahsildar, as the office located in Defence Colony is allegedly facing shortage of officers. As a result there is lethargy in its work, causing strong resentment among the applicants. The Staff is allegedly indifferent to the inconvenience being caused to needy people.
It is clear that staff shortage is affecting the office work, as none of the two Deputy Tahsildars, two Assistants and an RI, are present. Three of five VROs are available. Only one mandal RI is available. He is forced to work only for some days during a week. The lone mandal surveyor is covering areas like Malkajgiri and Alwal mandals. The VROs’ offices have sufficient staff, but lack officials.
As a result issue of caste, income and other certificates is getting delayed; those approaching the Tahsildar’s office told The Hans India. Of course, there is a subtle difference between the brokers to accomplish the task and those directly meeting the staff.
Although they can approach the Mee-Seva centre, issue of these certificates is allegedly getting delayed because of the inquiry by the Revenue department. However, the Tahsildar’s office claim those timely services are being provided to the eligible persons.
Mohd Ashfaq Ahmed, Malkajgiri MRO, told THI that people could approach the office staff directly without the intervention of middlemen for securing certificates. He claimed that the staff was issuing documents daily to needy persons.
Ahmed admitted that the work load had increased because of staff shortage. ‘If the required five persons are available the office work can be expedited’, he said, while assuring to take the problem to the notice of the RDO and the district collector.
