Bapuji Nagar gets a makeover
Centre Point: There is some good news for the residents living in Centre Point and surrounding areas as the road from Centre Point to Pulla Reddy bungalow, half-a-kilometer stretch is being widened and once completed would be a 60-feet road.
The road widening works are being done at a cost of Rs 71.75 lakh. The Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB) ward 5 member J Maheshwar Reddy said, “There would also be a footpath and enough parking space. 40 electric poles have been shifted and pulled back to the extent of five feet. The works would be completed within three months.”
Water connections for 500 houses at Bapuji Nagar
About 500 households in Bapuji Nagar have been given water connections. The connections were given a few months ago and the inauguration was done in a simple ceremony by the local MLA Sayyanna here on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that an underground drainage works at a cost of Rs 39.40 lakh also would be undertaken and the problems faced by the people of Bapuji Nagar are being resolved.
Community hall opened
A community hall that was ready almost for eight months opposite Ashok garden at Bapuji Nagar was thrown open today. Constructed at a cost of Rs 11 lakh, the community hall can seat 200 persons at a time.
J Maheshwar Reddy, SCB ward member said, “We would be making optimum use of the community hall by providing space foe unemployed women and arm them with equipment to eke out a livelihood. To begin with we would be providing sewing machines and also felicitate for Dwakra loans.”
He further added that Rs 1.40 crore development works are being undertaken at Bapuji Nagar. CH Malla Reddy, MP(Malkajgiri), Mynampally Hanumanth Rao, MLC, G Sayanna,MLA (Secunderabad Cantonment), Board Members Sada Keshava Reddy, K Pandu Yadav, J Lokhanadhum and Prabhakar(ex-Board Member),T N Srinivas, vice-chairman, Bowenpally vegetable market yard) and Bapuji Nagar Welfare Association were present during the inauguration.
