Tandur:   The unemployed in Vikarabad district are on a warpath with the inclusion of the district in Zone-IV along with the Jogulamba Gadwal district as they felt that it would scuttle job opportunities for them.

Further, the inclusion gave the Opposition a stick to beat the government with. The Opposition parties feel that inclusion of the otherwise backward district in zone-IV would push the district backward further. They did not hesitate to even to launch an agitation to get the district included under the Charminar zone.

MLA of Parigi Ram Mohan Reddy and Tandur Municipal chairperson staged a one-day fast recently demanding inclusion of the district under Charminar zone. All political parties barring the TRS expressed their solidarity with the one-day hunger strike. BJP district secretary Ramesh Kumar said that the district was formed with the inclusion of the backward mandals taking away developed mandals from its purview. He said that the decision had aroused suspicion of many.

Now, the district has been included under the Jogulamba Gadwal district zone, which is several hundreds of km away. He said that the BJP would launch another agitation till the goal of inclusion of the district under the Charminar zone is achieved.

A graduate from Kokat in  Yalal mandal of the district Sailu, who wanted to settle down in a government job, said that the chances of getting his dreams fulfilled are remote now with the inclusion of Vikarabad district under zone-IV. He said that the unemployed like him would get justice if the district were to be included under the Charminar zone (zone-III).

Another unemployed Srinivas, BA, B Ped said that the education of the unemployed would go waste if the posture adopted by the government in inclusion of Vikarabad district under Zone-IV is any indication. He wanted the local elected people’s representatives to show initiative and take steps to get the district merged with the zone-III.

The unemployed opine that it was high-time for the Chief Minister KCR, minister KTR and transport minister Mahender Reddy changed their decision and included the district under the zone-III. Otherwise the unemployed threatened to launch another agitation on the lines of the movement for Telangana to get their district included in the zone of their choice.
