Dharna over Vikarabad zonal issue
Tandur: Activists and leaders of Congress, BJP, TDP, CPI and CPM on Monday protested against merging Vikarabad district with Zone-IV instead of the zone-III staging a sit-in on the road here. While 30,000 vacancies are there in Zone-IV, there are over 80,000 posts in Zone-III, they said pointing out highly qualified engineering graduates are applying for attendar posts.
They criticised the style of functioning of the Chief Minister. They accused the Minister Mahender Reddy of not neglecting the district development and maintained that the people would teach the minister a bitter lesson in the forthcoming elections.
Local leaders Ramesh Malkud, Raju Goud, Uppari Ramesh and Srinivas municipal chairperson Sunita Sampat took part in the protest programme. The police arrested them and later released them on personal bond.
