Mayor asks contractors to complete road works on time

Hyderabad: Mayor Bonthu Rammohan on Monday directed all the contractors, agencies, executives, superintendents and chef engineers to complete the road repairing works by June.

The Mayor held a review meeting with regard to road repairing works with deputy Mayor Baba Fasiuddin, GHMC Commissioner Janardhan Reddy, Managing Director of Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Services  (HMWS&SB) Dana Kishore, Chief Engineer Road Development Corporation Mohan Nayak along with  Engineers of GHMC wing, contractors and agencies at GHMC Head Office.

The works which have been taken up at a cost of Rs 1,120 crore by the Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development Department MA&UD who is also personally monitoring and has given instructions to complete all the repairing works in the first week of June under any circumstances.

Rammohan said, “Any delay in the works in stipulated time will be viewed seriously. Hence all the contractors, engineer officials must personally monitor the works even the traffic police officials have to inform to give permissions during night to take up the road repairing works on the main roads and important junctions.  Even if need is there to deploy additional labour they may take the services of additional labour to complete these works under any circumstances by first week of June.”
