Complaints galore against Petlaburj Hospital
Charminar: Lack of management and harassment by the hospital staff has become the brazen identifiable traits of Petlaburj Hospital in city. There is always a problem with patients as hospital authorities are not concerned to correct this image.
There have been complaints of mismanagement in distribution of KCR Kits, negligent attitude of the hospital staff and seeking money from patients for medicine and other facilities in the hospital. Similarly, the harassment by security guards, ward boys and other staff is also a regular at this hospital. Recently, two deaths were reported in the hospital due to negligence of staff.
Women from different districts including Karimnagar, Mahaboobnagar, Medak, Nalgonda and different parts of city come to the hospital every day for treatment. The hospital was started during the period of YS Rajashekhar Reddy on a corporate scale to provide sophisticated medical facilities to women. However, the hospital has gained notoriety because of its failure to give the proper services. The harassment of staff increases every Monday or the first three days of the week as more number of patients visit the hospital.
Jayamma from Zaheerabad said that staff members of the hospital asked money from us when my daughter gave birth to a baby. We were told that it was a norm here, she said. We come here hoping to get good healthcare facilities and treatment but staff in the hospital harasses us in the name of free service, she lamented. Hospital superintendent was not available to comment on the issue when contacted.
