Safilguda: The pathetic condition of the Safilguda Lake is likely to change with the decision of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) to rejuvenate the exiting water treatment plant near to it.  In an attempt to redress the grievances of the residents of the Safilguda suffering from the stench emanating from the Safilguda Lake, the HMDA authorities resumed to restore the condition of the water treatment to treat the drainage water before entering into the lake.

For years now, the Safilguda Lake has been receiving contaminated water from the RK Puram lake and remained untreated. The lake turned into an unhygienic place preventing the walkers to choose the mini tank bund for refreshment. But now, the decision came as a hope to the residents expecting a new scenario at the mini tank bund.

“It would be a herculean task for the walkers to take a round around park with the foul smell and suffer with severe mosquito bite especially in the evening hours. This act of HMDA would bring a huge relief to us and could see past glory of the mini tank bund,” said Rajya Lakshmi, resident.
