People’s existence depends on plants: Vice Chancellor

Osmania University: Vice Chancellor Prof S Ramchandram said that people’s existence depends on plants at a national seminar on ‘Current Issues and Challenges in Plant Sciences’ organised by Botany Department at PGRR CDE Auditorium on Wednesday.

He called wide range of research on plants in support of societal progress. Usage of medicinal values in plants would meet domestic needs and also earn foreign exchange, Prof Ramachandra observed.

Speech on ‘Importance of plants-research’ was delivered by senior professor Manohar Rao.
On this occasion, the vice chancellor released a book for Botany students.
Science College Prof Shivaraj, vice-principal Jitendra Kumar Naik, Prof Venkateswarlu, Dr Suman and Dr Saidulu were present.
