Harish announces pay hike for Siddipet municipal workers
Siddipet: Minister Harish Rao on Friday announced hike in salary for workers of Siddipet Municipality at a felicitation programme for the workers for their best performance to win the ‘Cleanest Town’ award in the South India by Swachh Sarvekshan last month.

Lauding the services of the municipal workers, Harish felicitated the workers with shawls. He said that he would take the necessary steps for raising their salaries from Rs 8,300 to Rs. 12,000 from the month of June. In total, 334 workers would be benefited by this decision and extra burden of Rs. 12.36 lakh per month totalling Rs 1.50 crore in a year will be on the special grade municipality.
The lawmaker also stated that Rs 5 lakh of insurance would be provided for the outsourcing workers of Siddipet Municipality and ordered the Municipal Commissioner Srinivas Reddy to prepare the required proposals for the same. He also ordered the Municipal officials to work hard toward the improvement of the income of the local body of the town.
The Underground Drainage works in the town with the expenditure of Rs. 250 crore would be completed within a year to reduce the workload of the workers to some extent. Laxmi Narayana was selected as the best worker of the municipality and he would be felicitated on Telangana Formation Day on Saturday. The programme was attended by Municipal Chairman Rajanarsu, Vice Chairman Akhtar Patel, councillors and others.
