BLF threatens stir if tribal problems not solved

Parigi: The Bahujana Left Front (BLF) leaders, led by convener M Venkataiah, threatened to lay siege to collectorate on June 25, 26 and 27 if drinking water problems in tribal thandas and other villages were not solved. 

On Friday, they submitted memoranda to MPDO, Tahsildar and Roads and Building officials highlighting the problems they identified in rural areas as part of the BLF’s ‘Palleku Podaam’ programme. During the programme, which will be held till June 24 since commencing from June 3, they visited villages and studied the local problems. 

Residents of Krishnammagulla Thanda as well as Hanumangandi thanda have been suffering from lack of drinking water for over a week. No official took steps to undertake repairs to the damaged bore well in Narayanapuram dalit colony. Referring to the Nascal-Vikarabad road, he said as no pucca road has been laid in Nascal the villagers have been facing lot to troubles. 

He sought cheques under the Rytu Bandhu scheme for the practitioners of Podu in Maisamma and Hanuman Gandi thandas. He also sought the cheques for the tenant farmers. He sought identification of land for burial ground in Mittakodur and construction of a compound wall around it. BLF leadewrs Lazer, Ravi and Habib and Mallesh were present.
