Villages contribute `6 lakh for CCTVs
Yacharam: Fed up with the problem of robbery, eve-teasing and crimes, the people of Nandivanaparti village contributed Rs 6 lakh to the police for setting up Closed Circuit Television (CCTVs) in the village.
The police department has been working with several villages to install CCTVs. CI Krishna Raju said the CCTV cameras had been installed to help prevent and detect criminal activity in the village. He explained the importance of CCTV cameras to people in programme ‘Nenu Saitham' which was held in Nandivanaparti village on Tuesday. Villagers handed over Rs 6 lakh to police as their contribution for installing CCTV cameras in the village.
He said, "We are pleased at the continued support of the people of Nandivanaparti village, Yacharam mandal to create a better, safer and more pleasant place to live. Other villagers in this mandal should also take this village as inspiration and take the initiative to install the CCTVs in their village also”
He also added, “By installing CCTV cameras we can handle crimes. There was strong support for CCTV to be installed to keep people and their property safe. We can provide better coverage and provide high quality of evidence if needed. Don’t believe in the roomers like now a day’s thieves are increasing in villages and they are kidnapping children's and attacking on women.
With the help of CCTV cameras we can easily catch the thief and kidnappers.” Sarpanch Raju Nayak, SI Venkatya, Suresh babu, farmer's coordinator Jogi Reddy and social worker Rendupalli Sathyanarayana Reddy were present.
