Steps to save nala from encroachment: RR Collector

Serilingampally: The Nethajinagar Residents’ Welfare Association on Monday complained to Ranga Reddy district Collector Raghunandan Rao that a real estate firm was grabbing a nala near Nallagandla Pedda Cheruv. 

Association president Uppari Shekar, general secretary Venkatesh Goud, treasurer A Mallesham Mudiraj, joint secretary Mahesh, while explaining the problem to the DC, stated that there was a flood threat to the colony if nala width was reduced. The leaders demanded action against local Tahsildar Tirupati Rao for failing to respond to repeated complaints on the issue, steps by the administration to protect the nala from grabbers and to save the colony from the flood threat.

The Collector assured the association leaders that steps would be taken to save the nala. He directed the tahsildar to secure a report on the issue by the Irrigation department north division officer before June 23. Rao told them that the association could approach him if the two officials failed to respond to the directive.
