GOC Southern Command visits Secunderabad army cantonment
Secunderabad: Lieutenant General D R Soni, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C), Southern Command visited Secunderabad Army Cantonment recently. He laid a wreath at Bison War Memorial and paid homage to the Martyrs who sacrificed their life fighting for the nation.
Later, the General Officer visited headquarters, Telangana and Andhra Sub Area (TASA). He was briefed by Major General N Srinivas Rao, GOC, TASA on security situation and operational preparedness, infrastructure development, sustainable environment projects, educational institutions, feedback on road opening in the cantonment, information technology initiatives in Ex-servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) and office automation. He visited the command and control centre at the headquarters TASA and appreciated the seamless integration of security related equipment.
The Army Commander also visited Golden Palm Sainik Bhawan near Secunderabad railway station which is a unique equivalent value land project. Sainik Bhawan has been constructed by Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited in lieu of Defence land for Metro Railway Station. He was seen off at Begumpet Air Force Station by Lieutenant General ST Upasani, GOC, Dakshin Bharat Area and GOC, TASA.
